Making more efficient and attractive agri-environmental measures

**Sites involved in the action

Basses Vallées Angevines / Moyenne Vallée de la Charente / Moyenne vallée de l’Oise

**Objective

Improving the agro-environmental measures (MAEt)

**Description

Given the evolution of the French corncrake population, the agri-environmental measures undertaken since the early 1990s do not seem to drive towards an effective preservation of Corncrakes populations.
This action is therefore a priority to provide concrete conservation.

For this, a detailed work will be carried out regarding the specifications for agri-environmental measures and their implementation on the territory (parcels under an annually contract for 20 years, changing levels of contracts and agreements... ).

On the other hand, further work will be done locally. Data are available on each of the sites involved in the programme: content of specifications and their evolution, parcels under contract , mowing dates. The cross-check data with the evolution of Corncrakes populations will provide many opportunities for improving schemes for agri-environmental measures.

Improving the efficiency for the implementation of agri-environmental measures

**Sites involved in the action

The Basses Vallées Angevines, Moyenne Vallée de la Charente and Moyenne Vallée de l’Oise

**Objective

To have available a free and effective tool for relevant people involved in the implementation of agri-environmental measures in alluvial valleys, so that the parcels under contract are better localised and that contract levels are consistent with parcels and issues surrounding the site.

**Description

Since the 90s, many environmental diagnosis have been carried out in plots in the framework of the implementation of agri-environmental measures. However there is no standardized database for collecting and especially to take advantage of all these data to improve the effectiveness of agri-environmental measures and effective preservation of the Corncrake.
It is therefore necessary that all structures involved in the preservation of Corncrake population now have a tool to effectively improve the implementation of agri-environment contracts and enhance conservation of broods.

For this, it is proposed to develop a standardized database for:

• targeting priority areas to be under agri-environment contracts;
• optimizing the signing of contracts with a high level;
• providing a complete map of the distribution of contracts;
• synthesizing and grouping existing data from environmental diagnosis and monitoring already carried out.
• providing all georeferenced data from environmental diagnosis.
